Recently, Montreal Canadiens head coach Martin St-Louis held a press conference where one particular moment stood out. Thanks to the great subreddit ‘HabsOnReddit’ for highlighting this, but I’ve been uneasy about it for some time.
It appears that some journalists ask Martin St-Louis questions but fail to truly hear his responses. A few are so eager to pose their next query that they interrupt him directly. This pattern was evident during the press conference, and the coach’s reaction was telling.
One post on HabsOnReddit called it out, asking, “Could some of these Habs journalists allow Coach Marty to finish his thoughts before jumping in with another question? It felt quite disrespectful. You could see that Marty wasn’t pleased either.”
This isn’t an isolated case; interruptions have occurred multiple times this season. The frustration is visible on the coach’s face, which is understandable.
Have you also noticed this trend during Martin St-Louis’ press gatherings? It’s disheartening because, as seen in the video, it seems he was about to share something valuable, and now we may never find out what it was.
