The Georgia Bulldogs have excelled in recruiting high school talent, with their 2025 class currently holding the top spot nationally. However, they are also actively developing their 2026 recruiting class.
While they have only secured three commitments for 2026 so far, five-star linebacker Tyler Atkinson is a strong candidate to be a fourth. He attended the Bulldogs’ victory over Tennessee and described the atmosphere as electric.
During the game, Atkinson shared his excitement on Twitter, saying, “I had a great time.” This isn’t his first visit to Sanford Stadium; as a high school freshman, he attended the Bulldogs’ championship celebration in January 2022 and participated in “Junior Day,” where he met linebacker Mykel Williams.
This year, Atkinson watched the Bulldogs play against teams like Clemson, Alabama, Texas, and Tennessee. Furthermore, his trainer, Marcus Howard, was an All-SEC defender for Georgia.
At the Tennessee game, Atkinson met with head coach Kirby Smart and defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann. He noted, “I spent a lot of time with Coach Kirby and Coach Schu,” adding that they discussed his performance and potential.
Currently, Atkinson is ranked as the No. 7 recruit in the country and the top linebacker, as well as being the No. 1 prospect in Georgia. He plays for Grayson High School in Loganville, Georgia, and his anticipated commitment to Georgia would significantly enhance their 2026 recruiting class.
