In March, Drake and J. Cole put on a spectacular show at Rupp Arena, attended by many, including someone who wasn’t part of the team at the time but is now. Koby Brea was in Lexington that night to witness the performance of these two incredible rap artists but was even more thrilled to be at the iconic Rupp Arena.
During the postgame radio show after Kentucky’s 108-59 victory over Jackson State, head coach Mark Pope recounted a moment from that evening. Brea expressed his excitement about being in Kentucky, and when his girlfriend asked if he was more thrilled to see Drake or Rupp, he replied, “I’m more excited about Rupp.”
Since then, Brea has played four games at Rupp Arena and has excelled, averaging 18 points per game and successfully making 18 out of 23 three-point shots, which translates to an impressive 78.3% shooting rate from beyond the arc. He’s also contributed 4.2 rebounds per game and provided numerous highlights for the crowd. In the game on Friday night, he was Kentucky’s top scorer with 22 points. If he maintains his strong shooting performance, he could position himself well for the 2025 NBA Draft.
Overall, Brea’s journey to playing for Kentucky and performing at Rupp Arena in front of devoted fans has been remarkable.
