The Chicago Blackhawks’ offense made a strong impression against the Dallas Stars on Wednesday night, achieving a decisive 6-2 victory. The win was highlighted by three significant milestones: Taylor Hall completed his first hat trick since 2013, Connor Bedard ended a month-long goal drought, and Louis Crevier scored his first NHL goal.
With these positives in mind, here’s a glimpse into the Blackhawks locker room following their victory over the Dallas Stars. Connor Bedard, who has excelled at every level, faced an unusually challenging stretch in the NHL recently. After netting his fourth goal of the season, Bedard expressed his relief in the postgame interview.
“It feels like a relief after a month,” Bedard shared. “I can’t remember a stretch like that in my life; it felt great to score.”
Bedard’s joy was evident after he scored a power play goal in the second period. It was notable not only as a long-awaited goal but also because it was a highlight-reel moment, as he beat Casey DeSmith with a swift shot.
For Bedard, the manner in which he scored didn’t matter; the important thing was seeing the puck in the net.
“To be honest, I didn’t care how it went in,” he said. “I would have taken it off the face; I just needed it to go in. It feels great.”
Another Blackhawk who had been waiting for a standout performance also shone against the Dallas Stars. Taylor Hall achieved his fifth NHL hat trick, marking his first since December 5, 2013. Hall has five hat tricks to his name, one of which was against the Blackhawks when he played for the Edmonton Oilers in November 2011.
“I scored one against the Hawks before, and now I’ve scored one for them,” Hall noted. “Not many players in the league can say that. I’m really pleased, and more importantly, it’s a significant win for our team.”
Louis Crevier was also elated after his first NHL goal. The 23-year-old, drafted in the seventh round of the 2020 NHL Draft, has stepped up in Seth Jones’ absence, and his excitement was palpable.
“I’ve been waiting a long time for this; it’s amazing,” Crevier said.
The Blackhawks are enjoying a three-game points streak, with a record of 2-0-1 in their last three games. Riding high on this momentum, Bedard emphasized the importance of ongoing improvement.
“You can’t focus too much on a three-game stretch,” Bedard mentioned. “We need to keep building on our strengths and work on our weaknesses. It’s great to have this streak, but it won’t mean much if we go and lose a few games now.”
