The Dallas Cowboys showcased a powerful offense in 2023, but that has not been the case this year. While their struggling running game was a concern early on, they have struggled to establish a balanced passing attack throughout the season.
CeeDee Lamb continues to be a top target, and there has been progress from Jalen Tolbert and KaVontae Turpin. However, the Cowboys still lack a genuine WR2, even with Brandin Cooks returning from a knee injury.
This is why Ryan Gosling from Pro Football Network suggests that the Cowboys could draft Arizona WR Tetairoa McMillan in his latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft. To acquire McMillan, the Cowboys would need to trade up to the 9th overall pick, which would cost them their second-round pick but would significantly enhance their receiving group. Gosling highlights McMillan’s skill at making contested catches and notes his impressive size—6-foot-5, 212 pounds.
“McMillan is a big-bodied receiver adept at making contested catches. His strong hands and body control make him a dependable target in tight situations, and his ability to excel in the red zone would boost the Cowboys’ offense,” Gosling said about McMillan.
While it seems unlikely the Cowboys would make such a bold move given their conservative drafting history and other pressing needs, bringing McMillan alongside Lamb would greatly strengthen their offense and provide an exciting dynamic.
