There were high expectations for Jalen Carter, the former star defender from the Georgia Bulldogs, in his second year with the Philadelphia Eagles. He certainly lived up to those expectations, wrapping up the 2024 season with a career-best 12 tackles for loss, six pass deflections, 16 quarterback hits, 4.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles.
His significant improvement from his rookie year was notable enough to earn him his first Pro Bowl selection after being the ninth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Over his first two seasons with the Eagles, Carter has accumulated a total of 75 tackles (45 solo), 10.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, and six pass deflections. He remains focused on his development, saying, “You know, it’s just the beginning. I’m not perfect at anything I do right now. I still have a lot of stuff to work on. That’s just going to come with the years of experience that I gather up while I’m still here playing in the league.”
Carter joined five other standout Eagles players selected as Pro Bowl starters: linebacker Zack Baun, running back Saquon Barkley, center Cam Jurgens, right tackle Lane Johnson, and left guard Landon Dickerson.
The Eagles’ 2024-25 season is still ongoing, with a regular-season finale against the New York Giants at home this Sunday before they head into the playoffs as the No. 2 seed.
