Nebraska’s participation in the Pinstripe Bowl on December 28 extended the transfer window for its underclassmen by an additional five days. With compliance offices needing 48 hours for paperwork processing, January 4 will be the last day for announcements regarding any Nebraska underclassmen transferring.
Ismael Smith Flores, who transitioned from linebacker, is looking to continue his career elsewhere and has three seasons of eligibility left. During his time at Nebraska, he appeared in only two games over two seasons, recording one tackle against UTEP. In 2023, he redshirted while adapting to the linebacker position.
Originally a three-star tight end prospect in high school, the Texas native received multiple Power Five offers and ultimately chose Nebraska over schools like Iowa.
