According to a report from FootballScoop, the Wisconsin Badgers are set to hire Scott Power, the defensive coordinator from Western Michigan, as a defensive analyst. This marks the second hire from Western Michigan this month, following the addition of wide receivers coach Jordan Reid earlier in January.
Power joined Western Michigan last March as both the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach, bringing extensive playcalling experience from his previous roles at Louisiana Tech and Stephen F. Austin.
This offseason, the Badgers haven’t made many changes to their defensive coaching staff, only promoting Jack Cooper to safeties coach and Tuf Borland to assistant linebackers coach.
However, they have made some notable additions, including three former coordinators: offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes from Kansas, assistant wide receivers coach Blake Rolan from Southern Illinois, and now Power from Louisiana Tech. Power will contribute to Wisconsin’s experienced coaching staff and may eventually be considered for a senior defensive assistant or assistant position coach role with the team.
