Nebraska football is actively preparing for the future as it has one tight end entering the NFL Draft and a quarterback switching positions, while extending scholarship offers to several high school talents.
One of these offers went to Evan Jacobson, a 6-foot-7, 220-pound tight end from Waukee High School in Iowa.
According to the 247Sports Composite, Jacobson ranks as the third-best player in Iowa and 248th nationally, while being the No. 13 tight end in the 2026 class.
His list of scholarship offers has expanded to over two dozen schools, including Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, Colorado, Florida State, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Louisville, LSU, Miami (FL), Michigan State, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio State, Penn State, Purdue, Stanford, Texas A&M, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
In a conversation with HuskerMax about the Nebraska offer, Jacobson expressed his enthusiasm: “The Nebraska offer excites me, especially because of the tight end’s role in their offense and how they utilize the position.”
The offer was extended by Marcus Satterfield, Nebraska’s tight ends coach who was formerly the offensive coordinator.
“Coach Satterfield offered me when he visited my school. He shared that he was really impressed with my performance on the field and my complete skill set as a tight end,” Jacobson mentioned. “He also emphasized that they plan to recruit me very actively and are eager to have me in their program.”
In addition to football, Jacobson is a versatile athlete who also plays basketball, recently scoring 30 points and collecting 10 rebounds in a game.
