A former player for the Tennessee Titans is rejoicing after lifting the Lombardi Trophy. Following the Philadelphia Eagles’ victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, A.J. Brown can now call himself a champion. Brown contributed with three receptions for 43 yards and a touchdown.
He began his NFL career as a second-round pick for the Titans in the 2019 draft after playing at Ole Miss, spending his first three seasons in Tennessee. However, after expressing hesitance to sign a long-term deal, then-general manager Jon Robinson traded him to the Eagles, who have greatly benefited from his performance. Since joining Philadelphia, Brown has surpassed 1,000 receiving yards each season, achieving this milestone again this year despite only participating in 13 of the 17 regular season games. Although he was less impactful in the Eagles’ initial playoff matches, he excelled in the later rounds.
Thanks to Brown’s impressive play, the former Titans wide receiver has secured his first Super Bowl ring, marking the downfall of the notable draft day trade for Tennessee. Also joining in the celebration of his first Super Bowl title is former Titans fullback Khari Blasingame, who played in Tennessee from 2019 to 2021, just like Brown.
With both Brown and Blasingame achieving this victory, Titans fans can take some pride in the Eagles’ success.
