Aston Villa will be returning to FA Cup action this weekend as they compete in the fourth round for the first time since 2016. Their opponent will be Chelsea and here is our forecasted starting XI for the match.
After their recent victory over Middlesbrough, Aston Villa will be looking to continue their progress in the FA Cup. This time around, they will be facing Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Despite some injuries, Aston Villa is expected to field a strong starting XI following the winter break. The back four will be without Pau Torres due to injury, so we suggest that Clement Lenglet and Ezri Konsa should take up the centre-back positions.
The midfield four is likely to be the same as before, with Boubacar Kamara and Douglas Luiz in the centre of the park. John McGinn and Leon Bailey will be on the flanks, while Moussa Diaby will be in the hole behind the striker.
Upfront, Ollie Watkins will be the undisputed starter due to his excellent performance this season. He will be looking to end his goal drought since December.
Aston Villa predicted XI: Martinez, Cash, Konsa, Lenglet, Moreno, Bailey, Luiz, Kamara, McGinn, Diaby, Watkins.
