The Whites have less than 72 hours to complete any remaining transfer business before they make their first foray into the market. Time is running out for them.
After the departures of Djed Spence and Luke Ayling earlier this month, full-backs are a priority for Leeds. However, they are now also interested in signing Nottingham Forest centre-back Joe Worrall, who is reportedly being pursued by Sheffield United as well. Worrall is expected to cost around £6 million, as he has fallen out of favour at the City Ground this season.
Leeds have rejected several offers for Cresswell this month, but it seemed likely that he would leave due to attitude problems. However, he returned as an unused substitute for the FA Cup tie with Plymouth Argyle after positive conversations with Daniel Farke.
It is unclear whether Leeds will pursue deals for both Worrall and Godfrey, but the latter has the advantage of being able to play in different positions across the backline and has worked under Farke. Leeds are active in the final days of the transfer window and hope to finalize some deals.
