The Chicago Bears are in the process of overhauling their coaching staff for the 2024 season. They have hired Shane Waldron as their new offensive coordinator and are seeking new talent to help them secure a spot in the postseason.
In addition, Matt Eberflus has brought on Eric Washington, the former assistant head coach and D-line leader for the Buffalo Bills, as the team’s new defensive coordinator. Washington is joining the Bears after the Bills’ disappointing 2024 offseason, in which they lost many of their key players due to pending free agency and rising salary cap hits.
The Bears are hoping to reinvigorate their defense with the addition of Washington and perhaps even lure back former first-round pick Leonard Floyd, who struggled in his early years with the team but has since found success with the Los Angeles Rams and Buffalo Bills. With Washington’s guidance, Floyd could provide the veteran presence and edge rush the Bears need to make a playoff push.
