This season has been a struggle for Gnonto, who has only managed to score one goal in 24 games. He had also refused to play in three games in August in an attempt to leave Elland Road. However, it appears that he may be signing a new deal soon. Fabrizio Romano has reported that a deal is close to being announced in the next few hours or days. Despite being linked to West Ham, Fulham, and new Italian sides, it seems that Gnonto will be staying put. However, Dean Jones suggests that West Ham may turn to Gnonto as a plan C on the final day of the transfer window. They are also interested in signing Al-Ittihad’s Jota and FC Nordsjaelland’s Ibrahim Osman, but those deals are proving to be challenging. Jones says that West Ham does not want to panic and take on a player who was not already on their radar, but a situation like Gnonto’s could be appealing. As of now, nothing has been confirmed.
