Joe Person of TheAthletic.com reports that Ejiro Evero, the Panthers’ defensive coordinator, will remain on board along with most of the defensive staff under new head coach Canales. This decision comes as no surprise as Canales praised Evero during his introductory press conference. Having been impressed by the Panthers’ defense during his time as offensive coordinator for the Buccaneers, Canales aims to maintain continuity on the defensive side of the ball while implementing a new system on offense. Although Evero had interviewed for the Panthers’ head coaching position as well as those of the Seahawks and Falcons, he has yet to secure a head coaching job. Canales hopes that Evero’s coaching will be so effective that other teams will want to hire him in the future.
