Although the scoreboard on Monday night in the Bayou may have suggested otherwise, the New Orleans Pelicans are indeed a superior basketball team compared to the Toronto Raptors. Brandon Ingram dominated with 41 points in just three quarters, while CJ McCollum and Zion Williamson also contributed heavily to the Pelicans’ victory. In contrast, the Raptors struggled to keep up with Gradey Dick scoring a career-high 22 points and Scottie Barnes adding 17. RJ Barrett was rested due to his recent knee injury, but the remaining Raptors seemed to have needed a break as well. Although Jakob Poeltl started strong, his teammates struggled to find their rhythm, allowing the Pelicans to take an early lead that they maintained throughout the game. Despite a push from the Raptors in the second quarter, the Pelicans continued to dominate and eventually secured a 35-point lead by the end of the third quarter. The fourth quarter provided an opportunity for reserves to see some game action.
