Carolina’s new decision-makers have a lot to consider this offseason, including what to do with cornerback Jaycee Horn’s fifth-year option. If Horn had been able to stay on the field more consistently in his first three years in the league, the decision would be straightforward – pick up the option. However, Horn has only played in 22 of the 51 possible regular season games since entering the league in 2021, which is a major concern. Despite this, in his 22 appearances, Horn has proven to be a top 10 pick and a lockdown corner. Therefore, it makes sense for the Panthers to pick up the option and hope that he stays healthy. Horn embodies the type of player that Dan Morgan is looking for – someone who is passionate about football, loves the game, and is hungry to inflict pain on their opponents. Even if Horn struggles to stay on the field, his attitude and mentality will inspire others in the locker room.
