Carolina is set to undergo significant changes this offseason as new GM Dan Morgan and head coach Dave Canales endeavor to reshape the team’s roster. To create more cap space, the Panthers may cut or trade several players. Five potential candidates were identified by Nick Spano of uStadium, and each is evaluated below. WR Terrace Marshall Jr. could be cut, given his lack of clear role in Canales’ plans and his reported trade request. RG Austin Corbett, who has suffered two consecutive knee injuries, may also be cut, although his solid play when healthy makes this less certain. LB Shaq Thompson is a key leader on the team and is likely to stay, unless his health is a concern. CB Donte Jackson, who could save the Panthers significant money, may be traded rather than cut. Finally, safety Kenny Woods is a vital communicator and would be challenging to replace with a cheaper option.
