The Buffalo Bills are facing a challenging road to improve for their next playoff run due to their projected $43.7 million over the cap, according to Spotrac. They will need to restructure contracts and cut players to get under the cap. Running back and kick returner Nyheim Hines, who missed the entire past season with a torn ACL, may be a cap casualty. Cutting Hines would save the Bills $4.7 million in cap space, while fellow returner Deonte Harty could also get cut, saving the Bills $4.1 million. However, cutting veteran center Mitch Morse would save the Bills $8.5 million, but it would be detrimental to the Bills’ playoff chances without a clear-cut replacement and upgrade. Hines and Harty have made an impact at crucial moments during their Bills tenure, but with the Bills entering the offseason over the cap, it’s hard to justify that much money going to kick and punt returners.
