Derrick Brown was becoming restless after the Carolina Panthers hired Dave Canales as their new head coach, leaving defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero’s future uncertain. Brown decided to call Evero himself to find out what was going on. The team later announced that Evero would remain on staff, along with his defensive staff. Brown, who had experienced five coaches in four years, was excited to have some stability and continue to grow under Evero’s coaching. Other players on the defense had also been asking for stability, and with the coaching questions answered, the front office will now focus on free agency. Burns hopes that the core group of players on the defense can stay together and tap into their potential.
