The coaching staff for the Carolina Panthers in 2024 has been completed with the announcement of five new assistants. The new members are Will Harriger, who will serve as the quarterbacks coach, Nathan Carroll as the pass game coordinator, Pat McPherson as the tight ends coach, Keli’i Kekuewa as the offensive line assistant, and Daren Bates as the special teams assistant. Additionally, the Panthers have hired Scott Cooper as the director of coaching development in their front office staff.
Harriger has a wealth of experience, having made his NFL coaching debut as an offensive assistant for the Seahawks in 2014-2015. He was later promoted to assistant quarterbacks coach and spent the following three years with the team. The Falcons then hired him as an offensive assistant in 2019, and he was promoted to game management coordinator in 2020. After a year with the Jaguars as an offensive assistant, Harriger joined the University of Southern California in 2022 as a senior offensive analyst, assistant quarterbacks coach, and game management coordinator. He returned to the NFL last season as the Cowboys’ quality control coach.
