During an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show,” NBA insider Shams Charania of The Athletic revealed that the Toronto Raptors are currently “scouting” USC freshman Bronny James, who is averaging 5.7 points per game on 37/28/61 shooting splits this season. However, the interest in Bronny is more based on the possibility of also landing his father, LeBron James, rather than his own merits as a draft prospect. This could potentially lead to the Raptors, who own picks Nos. 6, 17, and 31 in this year’s draft, drafting the father-son James tandem. It would be an interesting turn of events given LeBron’s history of eliminating the Raptors in the playoffs during his time in the Eastern Conference. Meanwhile, the Lakers have recently revealed their stance on drafting Bronny.
