San Francisco 49ers are facing salary-cap issues as they enter the 2024 NFL offseason, putting one of their best players at risk of leaving the team. The 49ers have been able to allocate much of their cap space to other positions thanks to the rookie contract of starting quarterback Brock Purdy. This allowed them to acquire and extend All-Pro talents, resulting in one of the best offenses and defenses in the league. However, with Purdy and other key players nearing the end of their contracts, the team is faced with difficult decisions. Wide receivers Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel are two of the biggest names on the roster whose futures are uncertain, with one of them likely to be traded in the coming months. ESPN’s NFL insider Dan Graziano predicts that Aiyuk will be the one to go, allowing the team to address other needs and extend other future free agents.
