During the second quarter of Atlanta’s 123-121 defeat to the Toronto Raptors on Friday, Hawks head coach Quin Snyder was thrown out. Snyder went into a rage at an official with around four and a half minutes left in the quarter for not calling an illegal screen when point guard Trae Young was knocked down and seemed to have hurt his leg.
Snyder’s reactions to a missed call resulted in him being given two technical fouls and ejected from the game. The call in question happened right in front of Snyder and the referee, which left him feeling outraged.
Despite taking a moment to recover on the ground following a play, Young was able to continue playing and ended the game with 11 points and seven assists.
Throughout the game, tensions between the Hawks and the referees were high, with four of Snyder’s reactions resulting in technical fouls being called.
