The New England Patriots’ rebuilding process is almost surprising given their consistent success over the past few decades. Under former head coach Bill Belichick, the Patriots won six Super Bowl titles, but the franchise eventually had to hit the reset button after a couple of lackluster seasons. Since Tom Brady left for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New England has struggled to fill the void left by their franchise quarterback. Brady was instrumental in overcoming any roster limitations or defensive issues the Patriots faced, and finding a replacement has been no easy task. While Brady was renowned for his on-field heroics, he was also a great teammate, as evidenced by Matt Cassel’s comments on NBC Sports. After Brady suffered a season-ending injury in the first game of the 2008 NFL season, Cassel took over as the starter and led the team to an 11-5 record. Despite missing the playoffs, Cassel spoke highly of Brady’s support and selflessness.
