The plan was straightforward: to find some tough players. Robert Hunt, the Carolina Panthers’ new $100 million guard recently signed in free agency, sees himself as just that kind of player. During a conference call, he expressed his belief that he plays the game with the right attitude. His arrival in Charlotte is greatly needed by the Panthers, especially with the alarming number of times rookie quarterback Bryce Young was sacked in his first season. Protecting Young from opposing defenses is a top priority, and that’s where Hunt’s role becomes crucial.
“I’m going to try to set the pocket for Bryce every single day, and that’s what I was brought here to do in addition to playing a physical game,” Hunt declared. “I would never turn to face Bryce again. Well, I hope not to be. Man, I want to try to stop people right away. Additionally, attempt to mark his line, wherever it may be, and give him enough time to toss the football.
