The impatient and/or ignorant Toronto Maple Leafs supporters are eager to let go of Nick Robertson, but the astute and patient ones understand the situation.
What’s more, Nick Robertson is destined for stardom.

What’s more, Nick Robertson is destined for stardom.
You fail because you lack his motor and shot.
It simply does not occur.
In addition, since 1990, every player who has scored as many goals in the OHL as he did at that age has scored 40 goals in the NHL, with the exception of Nick Robertson.
It’s highly unlikely for someone to lack the same skills and qualities as him and still be unsuccessful. Since 1990, every player besides NIck Robertson who achieved his level of scoring in the OHL at his age went on to score 40 goals in the NHL. Additionally, he is already performing at the level of a top-line player. Therefore, it would be foolish for the Leafs to let go of a 22-year-old like Robertson who is scoring at an impressive rate in the NHL and is still relatively inexpensive. The smart move for the Toronto Maple Leafs would be to re-sign Nick Robertson, even if that means offering him a higher salary for a longer term to potentially secure some team-friendly years.
This season, Robertson has proven himself as an NHL player, even though he was briefly sent to the minors due to roster numbers rather than his performance. While it’s often said he needs to be in the top six to excel, the reality is that scoring is essential throughout the lineup, even in the bottom six. Robertson may not be a core member of the team yet, but his talent level suggests he has the potential to become a star and contribute to Stanley Cup victories. Despite not having eye-popping stats at first glance, Robertson’s goal-scoring prowess, particularly at 5v5, is actually quite impressive. His goal-scoring rate per minute of ice time is on par with top players like Marner and McMan. On the Leafs, only Matthews and Nylander surpass Robertson in 5v5 goal production. Additionally, when Robertson is on the ice, the team performs well, winning the majority of minutes and generating more shots, scoring chances, and high-danger scoring chances than their opponents. When playing with linemate Max Domi, their Expected Goals percentage is outstanding at 54%.
Despite being a 22-year-old rookie on one of the NHL’s top teams, Nick Robertson has been a top scorer and is earning minimal pay. Some are calling for him to be traded, but based on his performance and statistics, this does not make sense. It is believed that Robertson has the potential to become a star player, and it remains to be seen whether he will achieve this in Toronto or if he will be another player the Leafs let go too soon. An impressive spring is expected from him.
