After initially expressing a desire to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers, defensive back Damar Hamlin has changed his stance and now wants to stay with the Buffalo Bills for his entire career. Hamlin explained during an appearance on The Ed Mylett Show that his childhood dream was to make it to the NFL and support his family, which is why he mentioned the Steelers previously. However, he clarified that his current loyalty lies with the Bills, the team that gave him an opportunity in the league.
Hamlin is replying to a reporter’s inquiry from February 24 asking him if playing for the Steelers would be his dream come true.
The McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania native Hamlin said, “To finish my career as a Steeler would be a dream come true.”
Living close to Acrisure Stadium, it was only natural for Hamlin to dream of playing for the Steelers. However, he had to make it clear that his career goals were not meant to undermine the Buffalo Bills, as some fans had mistakenly interpreted. Despite his proximity to the Steelers’ stadium, Hamlin had no intention of disrespecting any other team. During his time at Pitt, Hamlin had an impressive record with 275 combined tackles, 21 pass defenses, and 6 interceptions in five seasons.
