The Buffalo Bills are unlikely to pursue Brandon Aiyuk, or any other high-priced wide receiver available for trade. Bills general manager Brandon Beane clarified after the NFL Draft that the team does not have the financial flexibility to make a significant trade for a wide receiver like Aiyuk or Tee Higgins. Despite speculation linking the Bills to star receivers, Beane emphasized that there will be no trades due to salary cap constraints.
We didn’t consider any of that today,” Lynch stated, as reported by NFL.com. Our wide receiver group is something we’re proud of. More than happy, actually. We are ecstatic about it. And happy to have strengthened that group even further by adding Ricky Pearsall.
Invoices Increase Receiving Corps
After losing No. 2 receiver Gabe Davis to free agency and dealing Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans, the Bills were in need of wide receiver skill, which they addressed during the NFL Draft. Wide receiver Keon Coleman of Florida State was selected by Beane with the team’s first pick, which was made at the beginning of the second round.
The rookie wide receiver told reporters on April 27 that the Bills gave him a call of approval.quarterback Josh Allen.
“He texted me the day of. ‘You’re the guy I wanted. I watched a lot of receivers and I want to play with you,’” Coleman told reporters. “I’m like, ‘I’ve been saying the same thing. I want to go play with the guy that wears No. 17.’”
Coleman also had plenty of praise for Allen, saying he’s excited to start playing with him.
“He’s a great quarterback. I think he’s one of the best in the league right now and I would love to be catching passes from him. I’m ready for that,” said Coleman.
