Allen’s enthusiasm for the draft was evident when he FaceTimed Beane to inquire about the potential pick, and upon hearing about selecting Coleman, he was very excited.
When the Bills moved down twice in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, it indicated they had several players in mind for selection. By acquiring the No. 33 pick, the Bills had control over the start of the second day of the draft and had the option to choose Coleman unless they received an exceptional trade offer. Coleman’s impressive catches on his FSU game tapes would appeal to Allen, who appreciates his ability to catch the ball in difficult situations. Although Coleman struggles to create separation from defenders, Allen’s confidence in his throwing accuracy would likely outweigh any concerns about this aspect of Coleman’s game.
