The full 2024 NFL Schedule will be unveiled Wednesday night, but the league has allowed its broadcast partners to reveal one prominent early-season game each. After NBC, FOX, CBS, and ESPN selected their top matchups, Amazon, the NFL’s newest broadcast partner, made the final announcement before the official schedule release. Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team confirmed that the Buffalo Bills will face the Miami Dolphins in the first Thursday Night Football game on Amazon in Week 2. This announcement was also made by the NFL and NFL on Prime Video Twitter accounts. The Bills versus Dolphins matchup, like other games revealed so far, is expected to generate significant interest among NFL fans. Both teams have high hopes for the season, aiming for a shot at the Super Bowl, and are predicted to be the top contenders in the AFC East, with the New York Jets also in the mix. Last season, the AFC East title was decided in a crucial Week 18 clash between the Bills and Dolphins, where Buffalo emerged victorious with a 21-14 win, securing their fourth consecutive division title.
Given the close matchups between the Bills and Dolphins in recent seasons, the upcoming game on September 12th at Hard Rock Stadium is expected to be intense. Under Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel, the teams have had tight games, with four out of five being decided by a touchdown or less. The NFL is likely hoping for another exciting game between the two teams.
By trading Stefon Diggs to the Texans, some may argue that the Bills’ Super Bowl chances are diminishing. However, with Josh Allen leading the team, there is still hope for success. On the other hand, Miami has been struggling in the postseason despite making it in the last two years. While there are doubts about their Super Bowl aspirations, a strong performance against Buffalo could indicate if they are ready to advance further this season.
