Since joining the Buffalo Bills, Von Miller has largely remained in the background. But in 2024, the former All-Pro Denver Broncos edge rusher might be even more popular.
That’s what one Bills reporter thinks, anyway.
As reported by reporting insider Matt Parrino of Syracuse.com, via Heavy, Miller’s long-standing knee brace has been taken off.
“He stated he had to wear a knee brace during practice the previous season, but he removed it this offseason and during OTAs. Miller expressed his desire to continue playing for a few more seasons on Tuesday, even though it was an unpadded session.
For Miller, the removal of the knee brace is a good development. The fact that the knee was removed shows that it is robust enough to withstand the demands of the NFL on its own. Miller is expected to weigh a little less than he would have without the knee brace. His leg might also be able to bend in a less rigid and more natural way.
Miller expressed his desire to continue playing for a few more seasons and improve his health, according to Parrino.
The pass rusher, now 35 years old, has played four seasons since achieving ten sacks in a single season. This milestone was accomplished before the emergence of Covid-19, the popularity of Fortnite, and the shift in the U.S. presidency. Following his impressive 14.5 sacks with the Denver Broncos in 2018, he briefly played with the Los Angeles Rams, winning a Super Bowl before joining the Buffalo Bills in 2022. However, his attendance has been inconsistent, playing 11 games in 2022 and 12 games in 2023. Despite his reduced playing time, his performance suffered as he recorded eight sacks in 2022 but none in 2023.
