Head coach Dave Canales of the Carolina Panthers gave an explanation last week for the team’s decision to have joint practice with the Jets this year as they prepare for a pivotal first season under his leadership. It was an easy choice because Canales and Jets head coach Robert Saleh have a history of coaching together.
Canales stated, “We’ve been dating for about 13 or 14 years. We were able to practise with Saleh last year in Tampa, so we just kind of talked about doing that again.”
It will be crucial for the team to get distinctive offensive looks during training camp as they get ready for the arduous 17-game regular season schedule.
We play a lot of five-man front defence, so it’s a huge benefit for us. Which brings us to (Saleh’s) more conventional 4-3 defence. We must do that effort,” he continued. We require the distinct portion of that rush. The offensive line, the running backs, and our method of doing it feel very different from that. I’m eager to do that, so
The Panthers will hold their first-ever training camp in Charlotte this year. They will only play one preseason game at home, against the Jets. On August 24, they’ll play the Buffalo Bills to wrap up the preseason before travelling to take on the Patriots.
The Panthers’ 2024 campaign will begin on the road against the New Orleans Saints. In the history of the franchise, Carolina’s record against the Saints is an all-time 28-30.
The Panthers will host the Giants in Germany in addition to their home games against the following teams this season: Dallas Cowboys, Atlanta Falcons, New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Kansas City Chiefs, LA Chargers, Arizona Cardinals, and Cincinnati Bengals.
The Panthers will travel to play the Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Commanders, Denver Broncos, Las Vegas Raiders, Chicago Bears, and their divisional rivals, the Falcons, Saints, and Buccaneers, in 2024. This will be the team’s first trip to Sin City for their game versus the Raiders in Las Vegas.
