Josh Allen, the quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, is the NFL’s second-most valuable player, according to deductive reasoning.
A seven-round mock draft using active players was held by draft analyst Chad Reuter, with teams making selections based on “win-now” strategies. Allen ranks second overall based on “players’ expected on-field performance in 2024,” which is the basis for the findings.
The three-time Super Bowl winner Patrick Mahomes was taken by the Carolina Panthers at the first overall pick, and the 28-year-old Allen was selected by the Washington Commanders with the first choice in the mock draft. The first 14 picks in the draft were all used on quarterbacks until defensive end Myles Garrett was chosen at No. 15 overall, breaking the trend. Despite Allen’s impressive skills that could potentially challenge Mahomes for the top spot, he has yet to lead his team to a Super Bowl appearance. The Bills have made early exits in the past three postseasons, often being eliminated in the Divisional Round. Allen, a three-time MVP finalist, has consistently scored over 40 total touchdowns each season for four years, a feat no other NFL player has achieved. He has also shown strong performance in the postseason with 21 touchdown passes and only four interceptions in 10 games. Although the Bills have won their last three regular season games against Mahomes and the Chiefs, Kansas City has been the team to end Buffalo’s playoff run in three of the past four years. In their most recent postseason matchup, a 27-24 loss, Allen played well with three touchdowns and no turnovers.
