Matt Milano, the wounded linebacker for the Buffalo Bills in 2024, might still have hope.
A huge setback to Buffalo’s defensive preparations came last week when the seasoned All-Pro tore his bicep during practice. It turns out that towards the end of the regular season, the Milano might be able to make a comeback into those plans.
Dr. David Chao, also known as @ProFootballDoc on social media, says Milano may realistically aim for a December return to the starting lineup. Using his 17 years of experience as the team physician for the San Diego Chargers, Chao clarified the linebacker’s diagnosis.
After surgery to repair the damaged tendon, Milano will likely need three months to recuperate. A return after Thanksgiving is feasible based on that projection.
“Surgery is necessary due to a torn distal biceps tendon, but his season is not over. Anticipate #MattMilano’s return in December,” Chao said on X.
Due to his damaged leg last season, Milano was obviously missed in crucial moments for the Bills. It’s quite promising that one of the best covering linebackers in the league could return in time for the final stretch.
The practice drill that caused Milano’s injury was subsequently shared on film, and Chao commented, “I know it doesn’t look like much,” before adding, “some early return to play optimism.”
Ever since he started the SIC Score website, Chao has a track record of making accurate estimates. He was right to predict Josh Allen’s comeback from his rookie-year UCL damage in 2018.
