This week dealt a jolt to the Bills defence.
Matt Milano, the experienced linebacker, tore his biceps, and it’s likely that he will miss the entire season due to the injury. The departure, according to safety Damar Hamlin, costs the Bills “an All-Pro player and an All-Pro person,” but it also gives second-year linebacker Dorian Williams a significant opportunity.
Williams, a third-round selection the previous season, appeared in every game and made two starts in addition to totalling 50 tackles. When questioned about taking over for Milano on Thursday, he responded, “I feel ready,” and he promised to heed his seasoned teammate’s counsel while on the pitch.
Williams stated, “Just do your 1/11th and keep your eyes on your keys,” according to the team website. “He always taught me to keep my eyes on my keys and everything will come to me, and that’s how to simplify everything.”
Williams will have numerous opportunities to demonstrate his abilities in the upcoming weeks. The Bills will depend on him to handle matters when they come his way.
