The New England Patriots have chosen to adopt a noticeably different approach to the preseason, playing (almost) all of their top players for notable action over Weeks 1-2 in order to give Jared Mayo and company as much tape from which to evaluate the depth chart going forward. In contrast to some teams, which have largely rested their starting players to avoid a freak injury thus far this summer.
Surprisingly, though, not many starting positions on the Patriots roster are up for grabs going into the autumn, with nearly every member of the defence certain of a starting position and a large number of the team’s offensive players essentially set in stone.
Thankfully, there are still a few really intriguing matchups between the Washington Commanders and fans to follow, especially at the two most crucial offensive positions on the team: left tackle and quarterback. The course of these games might have a significant impact on how the Patriots start the season.
