The Arizona Cardinals have announced that they are re-signing defensive lineman Ben Stille to their practice squad.
According to the team, this move took place at the Dignity Health Arizona Cardinals Training Center in Tempe, AZ. Stille, who stands at 6-4 and weighs 296 pounds, returns to the Cardinals after spending time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he played in three games. He was signed to the Buccaneers’ active roster from the Cardinals’ practice squad on September 6 and will wear the number 90.
During his brief stint with Tampa Bay, Stille participated in 14 defensive snaps, managed to recover a fumble, and made one tackle. He now re-joins a Cardinals team that holds a 1-3 record as they face challenging away games against the San Francisco 49ers and Green Bay Packers in the coming weeks.
Last season, Stille recorded eight tackles and one sack over five games for the Cardinals. He may see action against a formidable 49ers offense, which has garnered respect from Arizona’s head coach Jonathan Gannon.
Gannon highlighted the unique strategies employed by 49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan, noting the effectiveness of their offensive scheme in responding to defensive adjustments. He emphasized the talent within the 49ers’ coaching staff, their players’ blocking abilities, and their adaptability in exploiting weaknesses in opposing defenses.
