When asked about the recent unfortunate incidents between Montreal and Toronto, including the serious injuries to Patrik Laine and David Reinbacher, as well as Max Domi’s dangerous hit on Lane Hutson, Sheriff Xhekaj made it clear that Canadiens players won’t allow themselves to be intimidated this year. He specifically mentioned that he is prepared for the Leafs.
In response to whether he expects things to get rough in the upcoming games against Toronto and Ottawa, Xhekaj stated, “Regardless of what happened in the pre-season, tensions would be high. These teams have a history of rivalry… I’m ready!”
We are excited for the season to kick off, and it promises to be an entertaining matchup. Xhekaj is clearly looking forward to it and is ready to engage with some Maple Leafs players if necessary, warning them not to cause any trouble tonight because he has something to prove.
It’s worth noting that Arber Xhekaj will be in the lineup for the opening game of the 2024-2025 season, as Jayden Struble is currently sidelined with an injury.
What are your thoughts on whether Martin St-Louis’ team will triumph over Craig Berube’s new Maple Leafs tonight?
