Arber Xhekaj has recently found himself in a lot of trouble due to his frequent involvement in fights and his ability to frustrate opposing players. However, this approach has been effective for the Montreal Canadiens, who are typically perceived as quite gentle. Xhekaj and the Canadiens recently secured a victory in their season opener against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Renaud Lavoie from TVA Sports reported that during a commercial break, an altercation occurred involving David Savard, Max Domi, and Xhekaj. Ultimately, Domi decided to step back, recognizing Xhekaj’s tough reputation. Even Ryan Reaves appears to be wary of Xhekaj, having declined to engage in a fight despite Xhekaj’s attempts. It seems that other players in the league are also beginning to fear him, with Matt Rempe likely being the only exception—though that may change in the future. Overall, the Canadiens likely appreciate Xhekaj’s presence, as he instills fear in their rivals. Nevertheless, he still has room for improvement in his overall game, as his physical play is currently his standout trait.
