The Tennessee Vols players had no hesitation in celebrating their 23-17 overtime victory over the Florida Gators on Saturday night.
Right after the win, a deflated Gator was left on the field, with several Vols players stomping on it.
Several Tennessee players also responded to Florida fans with a few defiant Gator chomps. This is what SEC football rivalries are about, and it’s a big part of what makes these games enjoyable. Florida will have opportunities in the future to retaliate against the Vols, and they certainly will, but this year’s rivalry moment belongs to Tennessee. So for at least one night, the Vols have the chance to Gator stomp and Gator chomp freely. Nights like this are precisely why players choose to come to Tennessee.
