Igor Shesterkin, the goaltender for the New York Rangers, is widely regarded as one of the best in the world. As a top goalie, he understands that to be at the elite level, he must face off against the best players every game.
In a recent interview with Russian media, Shesterkin shared his thoughts on who he considers the best shooter in the league. To his surprise, he identified an older superstar as the toughest opponent he has encountered. He mentioned, “There are many players who have scored on me, so it’s tough to narrow it down to just three. I’ll start with (Sidney) Crosby, as he consistently makes unpredictable moves that are hard to read.”
He also pointed out other notable players, such as Jack Hughes from the New Jersey Devils and Nathan MacKinnon from the Colorado Avalanche, highlighting their impressive skills and why they are well-respected in the league.
Shesterkin is now focused on stopping these players throughout the season as the Rangers pursue a Stanley Cup championship.
