As the 2024 NFL season reaches its eighth week, it’s becoming clearer which teams are gearing up to make trades before the November 5th deadline. With a record of 5-2 and a comfortable three-game lead in the AFC East, the Buffalo Bills appear to be in the market for new players. This notion was supported by Bills general manager Brandon Beane during a recent guest spot on The Pat McAfee Show.
The Bills have already filled one significant need by acquiring former Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper on October 16th. However, they still require additional support in a couple of areas, particularly at linebacker and safety. Here are three players that would be smart targets for Buffalo:
**S Andre Cisco, Jacksonville Jaguars**
With the Jacksonville Jaguars at 2-5, they may focus on acquiring assets for the upcoming NFL draft. Fourth-year safety Andre Cisco could be on the trading block if the Jaguars do not view him as part of their plans. Cisco brings valuable starting experience and would instantly become the top safety for the Bills. In seven games this season, he has compiled 36 total tackles, four passes defended, and one interception. Since Cisco is set to become a free agent after the season, the Bills might be able to secure him for a late-round draft pick, and they are expected to have several of those in the 2025 draft.
**LB Divine Deablo, Las Vegas Raiders**
Divine Deablo’s situation mirrors that of Cisco’s – he’s in the last year of his rookie contract and playing for a struggling Raiders team. The 2021 third-round pick has demonstrated potential as a standout linebacker, currently ranked by Pro Football Focus as the 18th-best pass rusher among linebackers this season. Like Cisco, he could likely be acquired for a late-round pick.
**S Grant Delpit, Cleveland Browns**
Grant Delpit, who signed a contract extension with the Browns at the end of last season, has not performed at his previous level and might benefit from a fresh start. The Browns are expected to be sellers, having already traded Amari Cooper, and are reportedly considering offers for both Za’Darius Smith and Myles Garrett. Delpit would provide an immediate upgrade to the Bills’ secondary and is under contract through 2026; his remaining salary cap hit this year is only $3.676 million, which Buffalo should be able to accommodate.
