Kent Hughes has generally been quite patient with trades since joining the Montreal Canadiens, preferring to seek internal solutions to issues. However, a report by Pierre LeBrun indicates that he may change this approach and act more swiftly this season. Hughes has reportedly begun reaching out to discuss potential changes to the lineup.
LeBrun believes that the Canadiens’ management did not view playoff contention as a realistic goal, but there is noticeable pressure, both from within the organization and externally, to demonstrate some progress. As a result, the team’s poor start has not gone unnoticed by those in leadership positions at the Bell Centre.
“I don’t think the Canadiens are ignoring a slow start. From what I’ve gathered through conversations with other teams, general manager Kent Hughes has started making calls to explore options and gauge possibilities. I think the Canadiens are open to making a move to shake up the lineup and help the team secure some victories.”
