Chicago Blackhawks prospect Artyom Levshunov finally scored his first professional goal on Friday in the AHL. The second overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft netted a goal in the third period during the Rockford IceHogs’ 4-2 defeat to the Grand Rapids Griffins. Levshunov’s season got off to a slow start due to a right foot injury, but he has since joined the IceHogs after his recovery and has played five AHL games, recording two points (one goal, one assist).
In other news from the IceHogs, Frank Nazar maintained his impressive start to the season by scoring a skillful shorthanded goal on Friday. The 2022 first-round pick made a splash last season by scoring on his first shot during a brief three-game NHL stint. His ongoing development in Rockford is expected to enhance his skills for when he returns to Chicago.
