Last week, the Ole Miss Rebels enjoyed their biggest recruiting weekend of the season by defeating the No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs. A key highlight was the arrival of their latest five-star wide receiver, Caleb Cunningham.
Cunningham changed his commitment from Alabama to Ole Miss on Wednesday, an announcement made by Hayes Fawcett on X. This shift makes him the Rebels’ first five-star recruit in the 2025 class, having originally pledged to the Crimson Tide on July 13 of this year.
Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 180 pounds, Cunningham hails from Choctaw County High School in Ackerman, Mississippi, which is about an hour’s drive from Ole Miss. He is both a speedy and physically strong receiver capable of making challenging catches in traffic, complementing the Rebels’ already impressive receiving unit. According to 247Sports, he set school records last season with 48 catches for 1,138 yards and 14 touchdowns.
In addition to football, Cunningham is a multi-sport athlete, playing basketball for Choctaw County where he averaged 18 points per game, and participating in track, showcasing his athletic prowess.
With Cunningham joining the team, the Rebels’ 2025 recruiting class has risen to the No. 17 spot nationally according to On3 and ranks 9th in the SEC, achieving an overall class score of 89.72.
As the No. 17 player in the nation, Cunningham is poised to be a significant asset to Ole Miss’s future after his commitment switch.
