Thomas Davis Jr., son of former Georgia Bulldogs safety Thomas Davis Sr., has officially committed to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. A four-star linebacker in the 2026 recruiting class, Davis Jr. plays his high school football at Weddington High School in Matthews, North Carolina. He is ranked as the No. 164 recruit in his class, the No. 10 linebacker nationally, and the No. 11 prospect in North Carolina.
Standing at 6 feet 2 inches and weighing 220 pounds, Davis Jr. announced his commitment to Notre Dame on social media.
While Davis Jr. appears to be choosing a different route than his father, who played for Georgia in the early 2000s, it remains possible that Georgia could still pursue him. Thomas Davis Sr. was a standout player, making the First All-SEC Team in 2003 and 2004, and achieving consensus All-American status in 2004. He was a first-round NFL draft pick and had a successful career, mainly with the Carolina Panthers, making three Pro Bowls and receiving the Walter Payton Man of the Year award in 2014.
