Georgia senior linebacker Chaz Chambliss delivered an impressive performance during the Bulldogs’ 31-17 victory over the Tennessee Volunteers.
In the match, Chambliss recorded four solo tackles, two sacks totaling a loss of seven yards, and three quarterback hurries. However, one of the standout moments came when he played as a fullback in a pivotal fourth-quarter goal-line situation, assisting running back Nate Frazier with his last rushing touchdown of the game.
“He’s tough and physical. When our offensive line faced injuries, we needed someone with a fullback’s build as we’ve been using Micah there and were missing players,” Smart explained. “Chaz’s dedication to his work, leadership, and film study is remarkable. Sometimes, he knows what to expect before the coaches do because he diligently reviews tape and uses that insight to make plays.”
“He took advantage of his opportunities on Saturday. Not all sacks are solely his doing; other players did well to create openings for him. I admire his toughness and the way he’s playing right now.”
As they prepare for Week 13 of the college football season against UMass, Chambliss has accumulated 32 tackles and 5.5 sacks this season, with 4.5 of those sacks coming in the last three games when Georgia needed them the most.
Chambliss intends to continue adding to his sack total and delivering stellar blocks as he elevates his profile in his final season with the Bulldogs.
