Currently, one of the most talked-about players with the Montreal Canadiens is forward Kirby Dach, but unfortunately, he’s in the spotlight for the wrong reasons.
An embarrassing moment for Dach directly contributed to a goal for the Vegas Golden Knights, which marked the beginning of a downturn for Martin St. Louis’ team, prompting boos from the crowd at the Bell Centre. St. Louis even addressed the frustrated fans regarding the team’s lackluster performance.
After Saturday night’s game, Kirby Dach faced the media and took responsibility, demonstrating professionalism by not avoiding the issue and openly acknowledging his shortcomings.
This accountability is encouraging, showing his desire to improve and raise his game.
Dach recently made it clear how he felt about his performance: Do you see this past game as a “wake-up call” for him, or do some believe he deserves a more severe consequence like being a healthy scratch?
While I was initially supportive of sitting him out for a game, Dach’s comments yesterday have made me reconsider. He genuinely appears committed to making a change.
Dach will need to intensify his efforts moving forward.
