The Kentucky Wildcats are making a strong start to the season as they prepare for a game against Western Kentucky on Tuesday. This year’s team is quite different from those seen in the past 15 seasons, with veteran transfers leading Mark Pope’s squad. While Colin Chandler, one of three freshmen on the roster, has been earning minutes in important matchups, Coach Pope is particularly excited about the prospects of two Kentucky freshmen: Trent Noah and Travis Perry.
Both Noah and Perry contributed off the bench, scoring their first points of the season during the second half of Friday’s decisive victory over Jackson State.
“They are truly exceptional. They are significantly impacting the team, and their futures look incredibly promising,” Pope remarked about Noah and Perry in the postgame conference. “It’s challenging to sit for 35 minutes and then perform. However, they are taking their roles very seriously and played impressively tonight. I’m proud of them. Having freshmen we can trust like this is wonderful, and I believe they will have great futures ahead of them.”
With major roster changes expected next offseason due to many players reaching the end of their eligibility, Noah and Perry are poised to be essential components for the team’s future.
